The scene: an alleyway in downtown Golden Valley. The players: Golden Valley’s very own super hero sensation SINNAMON (not pictured), the All-American AEROBICA (in her pre 9/11 costume), and a relatively unknown videographer named Nick Nova. The lowdown: for reasons that were never made clear, the two women were doing battle. At one point, Nova came upon the fight and tried to capture it for posterity.
His efforts were stymied by AEROBICA, who seized the camera. Unbeknownst to these three was the presence of yet another man with a video recorder. To this day, Val Frenzi is one of the most trusted reporters on the Golden Valley Gazette staff. On that fateful day, he was testing out a new piece of equipment for the paper. His instinct for news put him in the right place at the right time as he captured the subsequent footage of AEROBICA breaking that same camera over the head of SINNAMON.
Upon his return to the office, Frenzi’s footage became the talk of the workplace. Word quickly reached the ears of Gazette Publisher Vance Anvil. As he watched the footage, Anvil has an epiphany - he would start up a television station that would feature nothing but exclusive footage of heroes in action. As with any dream worth its salt, the channel did not come into existence overnight, but when The Hero Channel made its debut, Frenzi’s footage was the first clip aired.
