Welcome to the Golden Valley Gazette Home Page!

Ten years ago, I purchased the Golden Valley Gazette and made myself Publisher. In my first editorial, I told my readers that I would usher in a new era for newspaper reporting in Golden Valley.  I told my readers that Golden Valley deserved a better standard of newspaper than what they were getting. I told my readers it was time to focus on issues that truly mattered.

When I bought the Gazette, Golden Valley was served (and I use that term lightly) by four newspapers that were scarcely better than advertising supplements.   My competitors scorned me when I poured money into modernizing the Gazette. They mocked me when I poured money into news coverage. They openly challenged my right to free speech when I stood up to protest local injustice and corruption.

Under my leadership, the Gazette focussed on the new influx of super-powered individuals springing into action across the nation. When our own city came under the watchful eye and powerful arms of the heroine only known as Sinnamon, the Gazette determined she was an asset and supported her efforts to battle crime. When the new Police Headquarters turned out to be a monstrous waste of taxpayer funds, only the Gazette stood up for the truth.  When our city came under the frightful assaults of the super-powered lunatic known as the Heartbreaker, only the Gazette questioned efforts to halt the madman's rampage, even at the deadly risk to our brave reporters.

Ten years later, the Golden Valley Gazette stands tall as the city's sole newspaper, a testament to the strength of my convictions and the quality of the people working under me.

Now I stand ready to usher in another new era. The Golden Valley Gazette goes online!  Once again, I plan to usher in a new era for online newspapers. Goldenvalleygazette.com (or GVG.com as we like to call it) will be much more than a digital regurgitation of its print counterpart.

Understand that I love my city.  I invested in the Gazette because I love Golden Valley.  The Gazette reflects the energy and the aura of a wonderful city, blessed with sunshine, beaches, and free thinkers.   Limited by the physicality of print and distribution, the Gazette brings the city to its inhabitants.

The Internet is not limited. It spans the globe, beaming its way into homes everywhere.  And so the Gazette's Home Page will likewise beam across the globe. No longer limited physically, Golden Valley becomes a state of mind which is open to all at the click of a mouse.

Just as the print Gazette focussed on the influence of entertainment upon our lives, so will the online venture seek out new fields. For example, I believe that comic books are one of America's least respected art forms.  This is a gross misjudgment. Accordingly, our coverage of comic books, especially those produced by the free thinking entrepreneurs of the small press, will be second to none.

Most of all, the print Gazette helped pioneer coverage of those persons with powers and capabilities beyond those of normal humans.  The Gazette introduced photo features of these individuals caught in amazing action shots. And so our Home Page will bring you super hero news as only the Gazette can, going beyond the fights and the feats to bring you the persons under the masks, the spandex, and the armor.  No other news organization in America can draw upon the resources of my own Hero Channel, the 24/7 TV spotlight on the super -powered set.

So welcome to our Home Page!  Welcome to goldenvalleygazette.com! Bookmark our site, and visit often because it's going to be a great experience!

It's all gold!
